In July 2019, XOOM will be taking place in HALL FIVE for the first time – and is also presenting a new concept.

Fusion fashion: integrating ethical brands into retail

On an area of more than 250 m² you will be able to see for yourself just how simple it is to integrate sustainable fashion at the POS in an inspiring way.

An exciting and surprising array of fashion, non-fashion and lifestyle products will be on show.

The stand spaces will be complemented by a central ‘Concept Store’ in cooperation with German fashion magazine TM and its curator Silke Bücker from Modebureau Silke Bücker.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FACING RETAILERS, STORES AND EXHIBITORS?

“I think it’s unnecessary to make the separation into sustainable and conventional fashion. Green brands should have the same standards as other brands when it comes to their image and the statement they are making. They should also be displayed alongside one another on the shop floor. Consumers these days are more well informed about the products and their background than ever before. You can of course refer to the fact that it’s a green brand in the product presentation, but it should be self-evident and not come across as too forced.

The central theme of an entire store concept can be ‘green’, and there should be a subtle nod to that in its overall image. For the consumers, it should be an invitation to consume in a more environmentally friendly way and they should feel encouraged, but not compelled. I also expect buyers with a vision and a sense of responsibility to face the sustainable fashion market head on and be open to taking a new direction.”
